Japan Tours Info Organisation

In conjunction with our sponsor, Inside Japan Tours, all of us at JTIO are very pleased to bring to you our very own guide to sightseeing in Japan and all things Japanese. In this edition of our brand new on-line magazine we'll be looking at some exciting new Japan tour itineraries you might like to consider.

Just becuase it's winter doesn't detract from Japan as a vacation destination. This edition's main article features skiing in Japan, one of the real undiscovered available options when making a tour of Japan, whereas our special featured Japan tour itinerary looks into the amazing world of anime.

MAIN ARTICLE: Skiing in Japan

Many people simply do not realise that Japan is one of the World's best destinations for skiing and boarding holidays so this month we try to do our bit to put that right! Anyone who ventures over to Japan for a winter sports tour is in for a real treat. Nagano in the Japan Alps played host to the 1998 Winter Olympics, whilst Niseko on Japan's northern-most island of Hokkaido has a well deserved reputation for offering some of the best powder snow on the face of the planet.

FEATURE ITINERARY: The wonderful world of Anime

Japan truly is a Mecca for fans of anime and manga. From Godzilla to Spirited Away, from Astro Boy to Pikachu, no other country can boast such a host of animated cartoons, movies, video games, comic books and toys. Highlights of a cartoon themed tour of Japan simply must include a thorough exploration of Godzilla’s favourite stomping ground – Tokyo – as well as stops at Miyazaki’s Ghibli museum, the manga shops of Osaka, and the Pokemon centre.

To help you plan your anime-inspired trip to Japan we have put together a sample itinerary packed with manga treats!

EVENTS CALENDER

Japan has more festivals and events than you could shake a stick at and in this section we focus on a couple of upcoming events as well as trying to provide a reasonably comprehensive list of happenings throughout the year. We'll be adding more articles throughout 2004 so please be patient with us whilst we get cracking on writing the copy! This edition we are focusing on the curious bean throwing festival of Setsubun.
